Some Mothers

My great-great grandmother, Mary Jane Walker. At Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

Reta, who would the little girl standing in front of her have been?

My sister Karen with a portrait of our great-grandmother, Caroline Engene. Some serious genes going on between those two. Karen is at least 20 years older than the lady in the oval frame, but still the spittin' image:

The Wendy Klein print reminds me of Mom, because of the joyful noise those gals are making:

  1. Great photos! I love when the past comes back to "flaunt us".

  2. Haha! I love how Mom's just trying so hard to keep a straight face in that picture! Does look just exactly like her, though.

  3. She'll probably have my head for posting the picture, but I can't get over how much she looks like that grandmother of ours! Mom used to tell us that when she herself was a little girl, she would do anything her Grandma Benson asked her to, including drinking buttermilk, which she would not do for her own mother.
