George & Elizabeth, King and Queen

Mom kept this tin box with her sewing things.

Played by Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter in The King's Speech

Now I keep it with mine.
Except I've set it on the coffee table this past week to enjoy looking at it. Haven't been doing any sewing.

  1. Not Mary - she was George's mother. His wife was Elizabeth of Glamis who died at over 100.

  2. Whoops! I didn't realize I'd published this entry yet. Just looking up some links, because the English monarchy is a bit of confusing grey to me in many places. Right, best get back and change that title. Thanks for the headsup!

  3. there is still lots of "royal" stuff in my mother's home. I don't have room for any but I like the way it feels to see them.
