A Mild Heat

Tonight is the first time I've come home with aching hands from a day at the office. I've put in longer hours at the keyboard before. So what could be up? Maybe just that after two weeks off, my hands have decided to complain about going back to work? They didn't complain Wednesday or yesterday.

I've got the hot water bottle out.

What I'd like, next to a kind and gentle friend to rub my hands, is a nice mild lotion to put on them, one that would give a little heat without burning the skin. Tiger Balm burns; can't use it.

Any suggestions?

  1. Noxema might be the answer.. if you have any on hand. or my answer to anything aching is two tylenol with codine curl up in bed put the covers over tight .. I have night cramps in my legs which drive me crazy. This helps sometimes... but at least I can sleep...before they start up. Getting older is not making me happy... found another liver spot on my Face... of all places... lol .

    1. I do have Noxema, actually! I bought it out of nostalgia, as it was something my grandma always used when I was a kidlet, and thought maybe it would make a moisturizer for me. Not! It's to wash with, right, like soap? Anyway, it stings so I don't use it. But I'll try it on my hands, that's a good idea; it's probably far less hot than Tiger Balm.

Have you tried the bar of soap under the sheets that is suggested for kids with "growing pains" in their legs?

    1. Really? For aching muscles? Whodathunk! I've got coconut oil; it's what I use for moisturizer most every day. I'll try it next time this happens to me.
