Two Weeks Notice

Clearance racks at Valda's store on Wadena's main street mean my closet and two (only two! hard to believe) dresser-drawers remain full. Three tops and a knitted dress for about $40. Couldn't pass them up. This was about two weeks ago and I haven't even removed the tags yet. Tsk. Could it be I didn't really need these?

At any rate, this should be the last of my wild and crazy spending for a while, since I'm taking the summer "off" from work, or shall we say, I'm being "given" the summer off. The idea of it is a shock to my system, but not unmanageable; I intend to enjoy the summer weeks to the maximum.

  2. Just think of all the gardening and bird watching you can do. Just stear clear of the shopping sites on the web.

  3. I'd love to see a photo of you in the red one. I have O Jerusalem on my e-reader but I'm kind of annoyed with LRK for marrying the beekeepers assistant to the detective 3 times her age.

  4. This is my first LRK novel but I brought home two more from the library the other day. I'm still trying to figure out if this Mary Russell is the same character played by Rachel McAdams in the Holmes film with Robert Downey Jr.

  6. What a wonderful shopping score!

I hope you take full advantage of your mandatory summer off. You should take a road trip to Minneapolis!

  7. Er, yeah ... the problem is, I'd have to pay for it! My belt will be considerably tightened for the next couple months. I'll be making my own beans and noodles ... heh.

  8. Hey, Ladies,

I'm finding your comments about LRK amusing and interesting. I was totally enthralled with her Mary Russell series starting with Beekeeper's Apprentice. As to her marrying the old fogey, never thought much about it. If I did, I'd probably be thinking eww!

I don't think Mary Russell is the same woman as in the film. So many people love to add on to the story of Sherlock Holmes, independent of each other.
